ClientAlign Practice
Align refers to mutual understanding and tuning between collaborators throughout a project. Through conversations and questions, we shift perspectives within unpolished language to deeply understand problems and define challenges. Once a relevant context has been identified, we collect and filter key information, shaping a coherent and sincere narrative. Practice, on the other hand, is the act of materialising that narrative. Within a clear framework, we think fluidly across diverse creative fields and apply ideas interactively, not only realising brands’ essence but also exploring deeper emotional connections and resonance.
Grounded in this approach, we aimed to develop a visual identity that is modest yet adaptable—one that stands alongside collaborators from all backgrounds without drawing focus. Much like a designer’s role in a collaborative project, it remains visible and tangible without demanding attention. Staying true to the meaning of “align”, we built a visual system with flexible order, enabling information to be added, removed or repositioned with clarity. These structural principles bring to the surface the hidden but crucial reference lines that typically go unnoticed.
The typography system echoes this visual narrative, centred around Elza, a neo-grotesque sans serif with virtually no humanistic touch. It reduces all text to just two levels of hierarchy—large and small—accompanied by minimal changes in weight and colour. The result is a restrained yet articulate tone that reflects Align Practice’s brand voice. Within this highly rational, near-monochrome palette, a subtle blushing pink accent is used for highlights. This fleeting hue reintroduces a humanistic layer into the sensible system, reflecting our ongoing attention to the emotional dimension of design.
